TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
WHEREAS so many renters have already lost their income due to Covid-19, and they shouldn’t be burdened with debt while navigating a health care crisis.
WHEREAS small and medium businesses need financial aid now to help with their leases during the pandemic.
THEREFORE we the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly
of Ontario demand the provincial government include the following measures:
to immediately subsidize renters to cover 80% of their household’s monthly rent, up to $2,500 per home, per month, for up to four months.
