TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
WHEREAS the former Liberal Ontario Government subjected Ontarians to the gas plant, cash-for-access, and Ornge scandals, and the Liberal Chief of Staff was convicted and sentenced to jail; and
WHEREAS the current Conservative Government subjected Ontarians to the Greenbelt, MZO, and municipal boundary expansion scandals, leaving unanswered questions about deals for a mega spa at Ontario Place and an open RCMP investigation; and
WHEREAS there is a need to clean up government corruption in Ontario; and
WHEREAS the Government should be delivering the best result for the people and the only criteria should be what’s best for public interest;
THEREFORE WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to pass the Ontario NDP’s Cleaning up Corruption Act in order to increase the powers of the Auditor General and the Integrity Commissioner to clean up corruption and restore confidence in the Government of Ontario.
